Every new year comes with new opportunities and challenges. At the start of this new phase of our lives we mull over the regrets of the things we did not accomplish in the previous year and envision new goals for the next. Overall, we aim to improve our lives by accomplishing more and becoming a better version of ourselves for others. To do this, we set New Year’s resolutions.

2015/01/img_17871.jpgUnfortunately, at times our resolutions are unattainable because we were way too unrealistic as to what we could accomplish. Or we were unable to accomplish our goals because simply we didn’t have a plan to make sure we would do them. That is why, after not being able to accomplish all of my goals in 2014 and wanting to accomplish more in 2015, I decided to take a new approach to my resolutions.
My plan is to do more in 2015 by making categories of areas where I know I need to improve. Then, every day I will make sure I do something that pertains to at least one of the following categories:

  1. Pray more

  2. Love more

  3. Listen more

  4. Enjoy more

  5. Encourage more

  6. Read more

  7. Rest more

  8. Write more

  9. Mentor more

  10. Exercise more

  11. Play more

  12. Understand more

  13. Laugh more

  14. Give more

  15. Delegate more

Overall, my goal is to improve who I am by having a list of action items to keep me in check. By completing activities that align with these categories on a daily basis I will be on my way to a better me in 2015. On the other hand, this checklist will also serve as a reminder of the things I need to change as I reflect on my day at night before I go to bed. Did I miss an opportunity to love, listen, or laugh more? Did I skip my time of prayer or exercise? So more than specific resolutions I am adopting these 15 verbs as my reminders to accomplish more in 2015!
